Wine train lunch

Had possibly the best gourmet lunch of our trip on an old wine train whilst driving through the valley. Amazing views and food - word of caution though, I hope you don't read this on an empty stomach! Because writing this post in the morning made me ravenous.

Appetizer platter - Cherries, cheese, olives, strawberry, prawn and artichoke.

The train ride and lunch lasted about a couple hours, long enough for us to leisurely have our 4 course meal but short enough to not get motion sickness! We finished it pretty early so my family decided to head down to Oxbow Public Market just around the corner.

Bought half a dozen of Kara's Cupcakes back for a teatime snack. Red Velvet is my favourite cupcake flavour ever - rich cocoa and cream cheese frosting. De-li-cious. I'm craving for some right now oh no :-(

1111 Dunaweal Lane

Took an amazing drive down to Calistoga (a couple towns away) for wine tasting. The views were spectacular and the road was just long and straight, I can't even begin to imagine how driving down that road in a convertible must feel like. You're literally driving through a valley with vineyards and plains just surrounding you, so so so beautiful.

Reached Sterling Vineyards which had greek inspired architecture, white buildings and all. Even a nifly cable car up to the top of the hill.

We were treated to an amazing view of the valley up there! Ridges and mountains surrounding us and endless plains and vineyards below. I do remember that it was ridiculously warm that day though!

So so lovely! How can you not love this view?!

Wasn't allowed to legally drink because I'm underage according to US standards but... meh.

The wine tasting trip consisted of about 5 different types of wine? And a tour around the premises to check out how the grapes are harvested and wine is made... etc.

The lovely couple who made this trip possible!

At their overpriced gift shop.. I think we bought a couple of bottles but that was it.

Ahhhh I just want to go back now, I think Napa Valley was really the most amazing part of my trip. Everything was so picturesque and chill, I just adore their lifestyle and how laid back everything was. Wine, friends, food. I can't wait to head back and this time I promised myself that I'd rent a snazzy yellow Camaro. With me driving of course.

Speaking of cars, they are super cheap in the US!! Ridiculously cheap. I can buy a second hand red Volkswagen Beetle for 12k!!!!!!!!! Can't even buy myself a Chery QQ with 12k in Singapore -_-

Which is why my dad prompted ignored me when I saw the car above and whined at him to buy me one too hahahahah (let's just ignore the fact that I don't even have a license shall we?)

All American Breakfast

I believe this was our first breakfast in America - International House of Pancakes about 300m from our resort. Yummmm what I'd give to have some again, I really can't get enough of hearty American breakfasts and their generous portion. L-o-v-e.

Cue a swollen face and puffy eyes. That's what I get when I'm exhausted/suffering from a lack of sleep and a terrible bout of jetlag, sigh.

We also made a trip down to Target to stock up on supplies and such. I love Target so much, I really regret not spending most of my money there :-(

So this is.. Day 2, morning. I've decided to not rush out my posts and take it really nice and slow.. if you also noticed I've edited my photos a little. I admit, I must have gone a little too trigger/curves/filter happy but I'm having loads of fun playing around with Photoshop after abandoning it for so long! Figured that it's crazy to edit my whole album of pictures so all edited pictures, I'll post up on my blog.

Check out the rest of the raw pictures and my full album here!
