Bali 03

What's Bali without water sports right? We headed to the south of Bali, Nusa Dua for 6 different kinds of water sports in 2 days. Parasailing, Jet skis, Flying fish, Snorkeling, Wakeboarding and this thing called thubing hahaha. Quite an impressive list for someone who can't swim if I must say myself ^_^

Did all our water sports at Mawar Kuning with this really nice guy called Balon who speaks fluent English and Japanese. Loved the place and the staff so much that we can again the next day hehe

PARASAILING WAS SO AWESOME!!!! Albeit short but I'm not complaining, clear blue water palm trees and low rise buildings ahhhh felt like a panorama view out of a movie. And jet skiing was probably the most exhilarating thing I've ever done. You literally ride out to the open waters and see nothing but mini islands and the open sea. Oh, with a mountain in the backdrop, you can't really go wrong with that.

Taking some surfboarding lessons at Legian beach.

While I cosy up in the shade with snacks and a good read.

Do you fear the line? by Wong Shu Yun is such a good read. This short novel very much kept me entertained while the others surfed though I finished it rather quickly, I found myself re-reading some of my favourite quotes in the novel.

Was secretly kind of happy I got a cut because it meant that I could use my Hello Kitty plasters!!! Unfortunately the wound ended hurting rather badly and I misplaced my plasters the very next day :(

Now I know why people love Bali. I never really understood why the caucasians I met seemed to think of Bali as a kind of paradise. As I sat there with my earphones plugged in, my book on my lap, a bottle of Bintang (Balinese beer which I really liked) and the awesome view in front of me, I thought to myself ohmygosh this is life. I could really really do this everyday. No cares, no worries, just you good music beer the sand and the sea. What I'd give for everyday to be just like this.

Bali 02

Headed to Tanah Lot that day, then tried to venture into Denpasar which was pretty bad. We got lost in the maze of small roads but the extremely accommodating locals managed to help us find our way to market. Knowing left and right in Bahasa came in very very useful and I have GB to thank for that.

Head down to Sanur for the evening but we didn't get to visit the Sanur night market because it was getting really dark and the road lights were non-existent so I chickened out and persuaded everyone to head back. I tend to get a little more paranoid when overseas :(

Bali 01

My aim is to finish posting all my Bali pictures before I leave for the Philippines (29th). I'm pretty much done with editing all the pictures so I will be posting them in batches on alternate days!

So back to the point, I headed down to Bali, Indonesia from the 8th to the 13th this month (April) Our service apartment was in the Seminyak area which is considered to be the more 'upscale area' in Bali with more boutiques and high-end spas. For the first day we just got ourselves orientated with the area and found ourselves walking to the Seminyak beach just in time for the sunset. And boy was it glorious. Now I know why the Seminyak sunset is famous, because the view was just breathtaking in the way you'd never expect. You can tell from the sand and waves how different the beaches are in Singapore as compared to Bali already. Talk about making a good first impression, it's no wonder why they call Bali the closest thing to paradise.

I've seen sunsets from numerous places in the world, including the famed sunset from Santorini, Greece and I must say this is easily one of the best, but it could be because it was extremely cloudy when I caught the former about 3/4 years back.
