WA Road Trip Day 2

We started off Day 2 with a quick trip to Cowaramup, a quaint little town just North of Margaret River. The town was exactly what I expected, tiny and really cute. Cows everywhere! My mom would've been so happy there.

We took a quick walk around and eventually wandered into this gem, an abandoned little shed house with a skating ramp. The old skater boy in E resurfaced and he was excited to try it out only to realise that the skateboard was spoilt.

Daisy!! Our little baby heh. We stayed in Cowaramup for a short hour or so before we had to move on towards Augusta. Planned the route just so we could drive through the Bonnarup Karri forest which I believe is along Caves Road (?). I've grown to really appreciate tall huge trees after visiting Yosemite and learning about the Sequoias.

The slight detour took us only about half an hour more and was well worth it! Not everyday do you get to drive with towering trees surrounding you, I personally really enjoyed the ride while E just loved the winding roads (he still believes he's in initial D sometimes)

Cape Leeuwin! We almost had to leave this one out of the itinerary because we were so short on time but I'm glad we managed to squeeze it in (at the expense of our sleep huhu). It's a lighthouse right at the bottom left of Australia where two oceans meet! Sadly the meeting point wasn't so evident when we were there but it was still a really pretty sight.

Sadly, we just missed the tour up to the top of the lighthouse by 10 minutes (I believe they run every hour!) so we had to settle for a quick lunch facing the colliding oceans before heading off on a grueling 5 hour drive towards Albany.

This was during a pit stop on our 5 hour drive! We left Augusta around 2pm and only reached Albany at 7pm and by then it was already pitch black.. Our second day was really short and tiring because we had to spend so much time on the road just making the drive towards Albany. Poor E was utterly knackered from the drive (because I can't drive!) you should've seen the amount of chocolate bars and energy drinks he consumed... It's pretty surprisingly how much energy driving takes!

So thats our 2nd day! Once we checked into our place in Albany, we were soooo tired that we settled for a dinner of instant noodles and an early night.
