Birthday celebrations leading up to the big 2-0 with my very precious friends! I'm not sociable at all and I find it difficult to make conversations with others so the few friends I have are reaaally important to me. Fingers crossed I hope to spend my next 3-0 with them too! After all I don't think anyone knows me better than they do.
Sooo what did I do on my actual birthday! Haha I'm sure everyone who follows me on twitter/instagram pretty much knows the whole story now due to my excessively spamming. So to you guys, you are cordially invited to skip this portion because it's a lot of words and instagrammed photos.
The thing is, I wanted a simple birthday. Really. After last year's huge bash with fireworks and all, I just wanted a simple lunch with Mr Tay then a simple dinner with my family. Plus it was one of the rare birthdays that my dad was actually in Singapore!! Haha but someone thought that a 20th was an occasion worth celebrating so after our really nice italian lunch at Peperoni Pizzeria at Greenwood Avenue, a really nice waitress passed me this envelope which said that I was going on a scavenger hunt!
First stop was Kallang Leisure Park where I got my Hello Kitty tiara and ring and necklace and clip-on earrings hahahaha
Then we headed to Dakota where my clue was sadly dumped into a rubbish bin and had to be fished out by my chauffeur of the day. Next clue was at Lorong Chuan under this small bridge next to the canal... never knew the day would come where I would be climbing and jumping into the canals in my mini dress IN THE RAIN.
Then we headed back to TP to find my penguin which was hidden... UNDER THE VENDING MACHINE (in front of a million students in school)
Second last (?) clue was at Bedok Reservoir under one of the benches which told me that my present was in the car boot!
Yknow the thing where guys put the present in the car boot and when the girl opens the boot a lot of balloons fly out? I ALWAYS WANTED THAT TO HAPPEN TO ME! Esp ever since I saw it on WGM haha so yay I got it! It was just one measly pink star balloon but it was more than enough to make me happy! Check out my happy dance.
Only I was cheated and found out that the paper bag was empty. The actual box was in the glove box which meant that I was right in front of it whenever I was in the car! Wah this one I really wasn't expecting because I ALWAYS open up the glove box since we keep the tissue paper and parking tickets there.
YAY! Mr Tay said I had this silly grin I couldn't wipe off when I saw it. It's sooo pretty and I've been wearing it everyday since I put it on. I'm actually allergic to certain kinds of Silver so this necklace was a risk.. but one that paid off because so far so good, no reactions at all! :>
So yea, that was my 20th birthday. We then went on to Paragon to meet my family for a nice Japanese dinner and desserts after, what a happy day. I'm a very very lucky and blessed girl, I do believe that I'm receiving more than I deserve so now I will work doubly hard to repay all the love that everyone gave me :)
A collection of my birthday presents! And a huge thank you to everyone who made my 20th such a blast, I love you all!!
ps extra thanks for mr tay for staying up till 6am on my birthday to run around singapore to put up all the clues!!
Aww I felt so happy reading your post! You deserve it all darling!
